Day 1
In the morning, go to Tiananmen Square to watch the flag raising ceremony (reservation required 7 days in advance), visit the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall (closed on Mondays). Walk from Tiananmen Square to the Palace Museum (7 days in advance at 20:00 on the official website to grab tickets). It is recommended to take the central axis to visit the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the Qianqing Palace, and reserve 2 hours to visit the Treasure Museum
Overlooking the entire Forbidden City from the Wanspring Pavilion in Jingshan Park, recommended to walk for 5 minutes from the Shunwu Gate after leaving the Forbidden City.
