Communication in Macau? Super easy, don't sweat it! Here's the lowdown:
* **English is Widely Spoken:** Especially in hotels, big casinos, main tourist spots, and with younger folks. You'll get by fine asking directions or ordering food.
* **Cantonese is King:** Locals mostly speak Cantonese. Hearing it is normal, but staff in visitor areas will switch to English for you.
* **Portuguese Flavor:** You'll see it on signs and official stuff (colonial heritage!), but fewer people speak it daily compared to English.
* **Signs & Tech Help:** Street signs are usually bilingual (Portuguese & Chinese), often with English too. Free Wi-Fi is common. Google Translate works if you hit a snag.
**Bottom line:** Language barriers are rare for travelers. Folks are used to visitors; just speak clearly. You absolutely won't feel lost!
