Location & How to Get There

Jing’an Park, nestled in the heart of Shanghai’s Jing’an District, is a hidden gem at 189 Huashan Road (right by the bustling Nanjing West Road). It’s directly opposite the iconic Jing’an Temple, making it super easy to find. To get there, hop off at Jing’an Temple Station (Line 2/7/14) or take buses along Nanjing West Road. The park’s central location means you can easily walk to nearby shopping areas or historic sites after your visit.

Natural Highlights

Jing’an Park’s layout is pretty unique—it’s shaped like a convex, split into two parts by a grand avenue lined with 32 towering century-old plane trees. These massive trees, dating back over 100 years, create a shady, almost cathedral-like pathway. The eastern side is home to the Eight Scenery Garden, a traditional Chinese-style landscape with pavilions, rockeries, and koi ponds. Head west, and you’ll find rolling hills, waterfalls, and a serene lake surrounded by willows—perfect for a quiet stroll or a picnic. Seasonal flowers bloom year-round, so there’s always something colorful to snap a photo of!

Cultural & Historical Features

While Jing’an Park isn’t packed with ancient temples, its southeastern corner pays homage to Shanghai’s history. You’ll find modern sculptures and cultural exhibits that blend art with nature. The park
