Location & How to Get There

Lavender And Egret Romantic Theme Park sits in the northern part of Chongming Island, Shanghai. It’s super easy to find—just 800 meters east of Chongming Dongping National Forest Park, one of the island’s top attractions. The address is No. 2018, Xianbeiyan Highway, Chongming District.

To get there, drive or take a taxi straight to the park. If you’re coming from downtown Shanghai, it’s about a 1.5-hour ride. For budget travelers, take the Metro Line 1 to Fangyan Road Station, then transfer to bus Chongming 3rd Line (tell the driver where you’re going). You can also hop on a shuttle bus from Chongming Bus Station during peak seasons.

Natural Scenery: Lavender Fields & Cute Animals

The park’s biggest draw? Lavender fields that stretch as far as the eye can see! Inspired by France’s Provençe, the blooming purple sea from June to October smells heavenly and looks like a fairytale. Walking through the rows of lavender, you’ll feel like you’re in a romantic movie.

But there’s more! The park is also home to alpacas (they call them “love神兽”—translation: “love mascots”). These fluffy, curious creatures are a hit with kids and couples. Feed them hay sticks, and they’ll crowd around you for selfies. Nearby, wetlands and wildflowers add a rustic charm, making it a perfect escape from city noise.

Love-Themed Attractions: Bridges, Gardens & Museums

This place is all about romance! One of the coolest spots is the “Matchmaker’s Bridge” (月老桥), where legend says couples who walk hand-in-hand will stay together forever. The Love Garden is another must-see—it’s filled with heart-shaped plants, pink flowers, and cozy benches for sneaking kisses.

Inside the Love Museum, you’ll find quirky exhibits: old love letters, vintage wedding dresses, and interactive art installations. My favorite? A giant “lock wall” where couples leave padlocks engraved with their names. It’s cheesy, but kind of sweet!

Fun Activities & Relaxation

Lavender And Egret isn’t just about sightseeing—it’s a full-day experience. Start with a lavender-picking session (perfect for DIY bouquets or perfumes). Then try herb-infused cooking classes, where you’ll learn to make lavender ice cream, rosemary bread, and more. Trust me, the food tastes as good as it sounds!

For relaxation, head to the aromatherapy garden. Lie on a hammock under lavender trees, sip herbal tea, or book a massage with essential oils. If you’re feeling active, rent a bike to explore the trails or challenge your partner to a game of badminton in the open fields.

Dining & Sweet Treats

The park has a lavender-themed restaurant serving dishes like lavender chicken soup and honey-drizzled pancakes. Save room for dessert—the lavender ice cream is worth every calorie! For something extra romantic, book a picnic basket with cheese, fruit, and wine. You can eat it by the fields or next to the lake.
