Location & Transportation
Henglinggang Town People's Park sits in the heart of Henglinggang, Longgang District, Shenzhen. Covering 40,000 square meters, it’s the only major municipal park in the area with a man-made lake. To get there, take Metro Line 3 to Henglinggang Station, then walk 10 minutes north along Longgang Avenue. Buses 905 or M589 also drop you near the entrance.
Natural Scenery: A Green Oasis
The park bursts with nature! Shady trees line winding paths, and the man-made lake sparkles in the sun. Birds chirp constantly, especially near the three-tiered pavilion by the water. Climb the observation deck for views of the lake and surrounding greenery. In spring, flowers bloom everywhere, making it a perfect spot for photos.
Cultural & Historical Highlights
This park isn’t just about nature—it’s packed with history too. Right inside the main gate, you’ll spot a real tank (not a model!) on the right. These military exhibits are part of the Shenzhen Patriotic Education Base, awarded in 2006 by the city government. Nearby, check out an actual J-6 jet fighter and a Type 54 122mm howitzer, both donated by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. Labels explain their stories, blending recreation with education.
Facilities for All Visitors
Families will love the spacious lawns and playgrounds. The pavilion offers shaded rest areas, and benches line the lake for quiet moments. Drinking fountains and clean restrooms are scattered throughout. For exercise, a running track circles the lake, and seniors often gather for tai chi in the morning.
Exploration Tips
Start at the tank exhibit to grab kids’ attention, then wander toward the patriotic education zone to see the wartime artifacts. Afterward, relax by the lake or climb the observation deck for a breeze. Bring sunscreen—there’s less shade near the open spaces. The park gets busy on weekends, so arrive early if you want photos without crowds.
Whether you’re into nature, history, or simply unwinding, Henglinggang Town People's Park offers something for everyone. It’s a hidden gem in Shenzhen’s urban sprawl!
