Pat Sin Leng Country Park sits in the northeast corner of Hong Kong’s New Territories, covering 3,125 hectares of rugged hills and forests. It’s nestled next to Tolo Harbour, offering stunning views of the water and surrounding mountains. The park is part of the larger “special area” designated for conservation, so you’ll feel like you’re exploring a hidden gem.

To get there, take Bus 96R from Sha Tin Station (it’s the most direct route!), or drive along Tai Po Road and follow signs for Pat Sin Leng. If you’re up for a hike, you can also start from Sheung Yuet Wui village—just check a map beforehand.

Natural Scenery: Mountains & Water

The park’s crown jewel is its mountains, with peaks soaring over 550 meters. On a clear day, the panoramic view of rolling hills and Tolo Harbour feels like a scene from a movie. Hiking up the Hill Fire Path (a local trail) rewards you with photo-worthy sunsets.

Don’t miss Xianniang Tam (Bride’s Pool), a crystal-clear stream surrounded by rocks and trees. Legend says a bride tragically drowned here, which is why the pool has a hauntingly beautiful vibe. Visit early morning or late afternoon to catch the light dancing on the water.

Facilities for Visitors

Most trails are well-marked, but wear sturdy shoes! Some paths get slippery after rain, especially near Xianniang Tam.
