Location & Access
Daden Island sits in the coastal waters of Xiamen, just 1.8 kilometers north of Kinmen Island (Quemoy). This tiny gem belongs to Xiang’an District and covers about 13.2 square kilometers. You can reach it by taking a 1-hour bus ride from Xiamen Downtown or renting a car—the island feels worlds away, but it’s still part of modern Xiamen!
Natural Scenery: A Breath of Fresh Air
Daden Island is famous for its pristine waters and clean air, which meet national first-class environmental standards. Think crystal-clear beaches, turquoise sea, and endless skies. The island is also a national white egret reserve, so you might spot these graceful birds dancing over wetlands. Locals call it a “natural oxygen bar”—perfect for deep breaths and escapes from city buzz.
