1. Who we are Deep China Travel ("we", "us") operates deepchinatravel.com, an English-language travel guide for China. Contact: hello@deepchinatravel.com.
2. What we collect
When you submit our itinerary-check form, we collect: name, email address, WhatsApp number (optional), travel dates (optional), group size (optional), budget range (optional), and travel interests.
When you browse the site, basic technical data (pages visited, approximate location, device type) may be processed by our analytics tool.
3. Why we collect it and the legal basis
- To reply to your inquiry and help plan your trip (consent + legitimate interest);
- **To share your inquiry with trusted local travel partners** who can assist your trip — we do this **only with your explicit consent**, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form;
- To improve our content and measure site usage (legitimate interest).
4. Cookies and affiliate links
- Some links on this site are affiliate links (Trip.com, Viator, GetYourGuide, Booking.com via Travelpayouts, and eSIM providers). When you click them, the partner may set a cookie (typically 30 days) to attribute any booking. We earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- You can disable cookies in your browser; affiliate links will still work but commissions may not attribute.
5. Third parties
- Form data: Tally (forms), data stored in the EU, GDPR-compliant (Belgian DPA);
- Analytics: GoatCounter (privacy-friendly, no personal data) or similar;
- Affiliate network: Travelpayouts and the brands listed above.
6. Data retention
Inquiry data is kept for up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete it.
