What it is

Jing'an Temple is a busy downtown Buddhist temple in the middle of Shanghai's Jing'an commercial district, notable for blending Han and Tibetan architectural elements — a rarity in eastern China. Its Great Buddha Hall houses a 15-tonne silver Buddha, and the Jade Buddha Hall's jade figure is said to be larger than the one at Shanghai's Jade Buddha Temple. It is an active temple and popular cultural landmark at the heart of the city.
