Location & How to Get There

Epang Gallery sits inside the Huaqing Pool scenic area in Lintong, Xi’an. It’s right next to Mount Li, which looks like a giant green shield guarding the place. To reach Epang Gallery, you can hop on the metro Line 9 to Huaqing Pool Station—it’s only a 10-minute walk from there. If you’re driving, punch “Huaqingchi Huanyuan, 38 Huaqing Road” into your GPS, and look for the traditional rooftops near the hot springs area.

Natural Scenery: Mountains & Hot Springs

This spot is all about nature’s drama. Mount Li towers behind Epang Gallery, covered in lush trees that turn golden in autumn. Below the mountain, hot springs bubble up—they’ve been here since ancient times! You’ll see steam rising from the water, especially in winter, which looks like something out of a fairy tale. The air smells clean, and if you visit early, you might catch the mist swirling around the galleries, which feels straight out of a Chinese painting.

History & Culture: Tang Dynasty Vibes

Epang Gallery isn’t just about pretty views—it’s packed with stories. This place was inspired by the Epang Palace, which was built by Emperor Qin Shi Huang (the guy who’s buried with an entire terracotta army). While the original palace didn’t survive, this gallery recreates its grand style with huge wooden beams and intricate carvings
