- Daily cap 85,000. Book on the official WeChat mini program, Meituan, Douyin, Tongcheng, or Trip.com (authorized). Official English ticket page: panda.org.cn/en/service/ticket.
- Bring the same passport you booked. Mainland ID gates will not swipe a foreign passport — follow signs for the other-documents lane.
- Do not buy “skip the line” from random sellers. The base says unofficial resale is prohibited.
- This ticket is not Dujiangyan Panda Valley. Separate park, separate ticket.

Afternoon tickets: do not arrive in the morning hoping to wander in. The base is explicit about that wait.
How to get there (no tour)
Address: 1375 Panda Avenue, Chenghua District. Official transit notes (panda.org.cn public transportation):
- South Gate: Metro Line 3 → Panda Avenue (熊猫大道), Exit A, then feeder bus 408.
- West Gate: Metro Line 3 → Junqu General Hospital (军区总医院), Exit B, then feeder bus 409 (~10 minutes).
- Didi / taxi from Chunxi Road: typically about 40 CNY, 25–35 minutes. From Chengdu East station similar. From Tianfu Airport often ~200 CNY / 60–70 minutes — or take the metro and skip the taxi.

A morning that actually sees pandas
- Stay near a Line 3 station the night before. Eat breakfast on the metro, not after 9:30 at the gate.
- Be at the gate at opening. Walk first to the nearer nursery / adult enclosures — crowds collect at the celebrity houses.
- By 11:00 many animals are asleep. If you only have an afternoon ticket, you will see more red pandas and napping giant pandas. That is still a zoo-scale visit; it is not the viral feeding clip.
- Internal shuttle carts are optional and paid. The site is large; wear shoes.

What a tour is selling you
Pickup, an English speaker, and a timed slot you could have booked yourself. Useful if you hate metro transfers or travel with small kids. Not required. You will not hold a panda. Anyone offering a cuddle is not the research base.

Do I need a tour to see the Chengdu pandas?
No. Book the official 55 CNY adult ticket, take Metro Line 3, and use the passport lane.
Morning or afternoon ticket?
Morning. Giant pandas are most active at opening and often asleep by noon.
Can I use my passport at the gate?
Yes. Do not join the mainland ID swipe lane. Use the lane for passport and other documents and carry the original passport you booked.
Is the 55 CNY ticket Dujiangyan too?
No. Panda Valley in Dujiangyan is a different ticket. This page is the Chengdu city base on Panda Avenue.
How far is it from Chengdu East railway station?
Official taxi note is about 40 CNY and 25–30 minutes, traffic depending. Metro Line 7/1/3 is slower but cheap.
